Balinese
Offering Making

Rooted in the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana (harmony with God, nature, and people) — an act of gratitude made by hand

In Bali, offerings are everywhere — placed at doorsteps at dawn, laid before shrines at dusk, woven into the rhythm of daily life with a quiet devotion that has remained unbroken for centuries. Known as canang sari, these small hand-crafted baskets of flowers, incense, and sacred objects are not merely decorative. They are a daily act of gratitude, a conversation between the living and the divine, a reminder that beauty and intention belong together.

With one of our Balinese hosts beside you, you will learn to fold the palm leaf base, layer it with flowers chosen for their colour and meaning, and compose your own offering from start to finish. No experience is needed — only a willingness to slow down and pay attention. What you make is yours to keep, a small and fragrant piece of Bali to carry home.
